Route Description

The half marathon route map can be viewed here

You will start on the mainland side of Thomas Telford's world famous Menai Suspension Bridge.  You will run across the bridge, left at the roundabout and under the bridge to experience stunning views of the Bridge.  When you join Menai Bridge High Street you will follow the A545 which is a fast and flat road all the way to Beaumaris, the views across the Menai Straits to Snowdonia are to die for!  This road will be closed to traffic along it's entire route.  In Beaumaris you will run across the village green and rejoin the road at the iconic Beaumaris Castle.  A short loop through Llanfaes will bring you back to the Castle, along Beaumaris High Street and return along the A545 which continues to be closed to traffic to the finish line just off Menai Bridge High Street.

This is a very fast and flat course with excellent personal best (PB) potential.

Please Note - there will be a strict cut off time of 11.00am applied on the return through Beaumaris. Runners who have not returned to the drink station in Beaumaris by this time will not be permitted to continue. This is for safety reasons due to the re opening of the road closure.
