Welcome to the brand new Anglesey Half Marathon – "The Island Race an iconic bridge to castle challenge".

A new and exciting race for your 2012 calendar, for the first time ever you can run across the world famous Menai Bridge free from traffic and follow the coast road to the awesome Beaumaris Castle, and back.  It is a flat and fast course with stunning scenery which will inspire you either to your half marathon personal best or just to have a go.  You will have the added pleasure and peace of mind as most of the route is on closed traffic free roads.

Organised by local running enthusiasts and professional event organisers, the event will be one not to miss!  The route could not be better and the day promises to be one not to forget.  The entry fee of £21 (£23 for non-affiliated runners, plus a small card admin fee which is out of our control) includes all online registration administration fees, electronic chip timing, event family entertainment, a unique free commemorative race T shirt, a bespoke finishers sports bottle and refreshments at the race finish line.  We believe that this offers excellent value and a unique opportunity to run this iconic route.

If the half marathon sounds too much, you have no excuse as there will be The Dragon's Dash children's races to register click HERE and a 5k Fun Run which you can enter for just £5 at the event HQ.  Otherwise, simply come along and soak up the atmosphere, there will be heaps to see and do.  All of the races will start by running across the Menai Suspension Bridge.

We are very proud to be working with our friends at EnergySolutions who are responsible for operating ten Magnox Sites in the UK on behalf of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority. Operations in Wales include; Wylfa Power Station which generates enough low carbon electricity to meet 40% of Wales' daily needs, Maentwrog Hydro Power Station which has been generating renewable energy since 1928 and decommissioning of the former nuclear power station at Trawsfynydd.

We are also working closely with the communities of Menai Bridge, Cwm Cadnant and Beaumaris to bring you this new and exciting event.  Our official charity for the race is the Beaumaris Lifeboat Station.
